【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesasimplemeansofcharacterizingthethermomechanicalbehaviorofplasticcompositionsusingaverysmallamountofmaterial.Sincesmalltestspecimengeometriesareused,itisessentialthatthespecimensberepresentativeofthematerialbeingtested.Thedataobtainedcanbeusedforqualitycontroland/orresearchanddevelopmentpurposes.Forsomeclassesofmaterials,suchasthermosets,itcanalsobeusedtoestablishoptimumprocessingconditions.Dynamicmechanicaltestingprovidesasensitivemeansfordeterminingthermomechanicalcharacteristicsbymeasuringtheelasticandlossmoduliasafunctionoffrequency,temperature,ortime.Plotsofmoduliandtandeltaofamaterialversusthesevariablescanbeusedtoprovideagraphicrepresentationindicativeoffunctionalproperties,effectivenessofcure(thermosetting-resinsystems),anddampingbehaviorunderspecifiedconditions.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoassessthefollowing:5.3.1Themodulusasafunctionoftemperatureoraging,orboth,5.3.2Themodulusasafunctionoffrequency,5.3.3Theeffectsofprocessingtreatment,includingorientation,inducedstress,anddegradationofphysicalandchemicalstructure,5.3.4Relativeresinbehavioralproperties,includingcureanddamping,5.3.5Theeffectsofsubstratetypesandorientation(fabrication)onelasticmodulus,and5.3.6Theeffectsofformulationadditivesthatmightaffectprocessabilityorperformance.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,refertothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orcombinationthereof,coveredintherelevantASTMmaterialspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.IftherearenorelevantASTMmaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodoutlinestheuseofdynamicmechanicalinstrumentationfordeterminingandreportingtheviscoelasticpropertiesofthermoplasticandthermosettingresinsandcompositesystemsintheformofrectangularbarsmoldeddirectlyorcutfromsheets,plates,ormoldedshapes.Theelasticmodulusdatageneratedmaybeusedtoidentifythethermomechanicalpropertiesofaplasticsmaterialorcomposition.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtoprovideameansfordeterminingtheviscoelasticpropertiesofawidevarietyofplasticsusingnonresonant,forced-vibrationtechniquesasoutlinedinPracticeD4065.Inparticular,thismethodidentifiestheproceduresusedtomeasurepropertiesusingwhatisknownasadual-cantileverbeamflexurearrangement.Plotsoftheelastic(storage)modulus,loss(viscous)modulus,andcomplexmodulus,andtandeltaasafunctionoffrequency,time,ortemperatureareindicativeofsignificanttransitionsinthethermomechanicalperformanceofthepolymericmaterialsystems.1.3Thistestmethodisvalidforawiderangeoffrequencies,typicallyfrom0.01to100Hz.1.4Apparentdiscrepanciesmayariseinresultsobtainedunderdifferingexperimentalconditions.Theseapparentdifferencesfromresultsobservedinanotherstudycanusuallybereconciled,withoutchangingtheobserveddata,byreportinginfull(asdescribedinthistestmethod)theconditionsunderwhichthedatawereobtained.1.5Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodarerelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminethea......
